Boys and Girls ClubsThe Challenge
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) is to inspire and enable young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. In 2009, BGCSF invited Clock Four to rebuild its mission-critical but aging website an opportunity that inspired us.
Our challenge was to build a site that would be robust enough to meet BGCSF’s needs for the long term while remaining within the nonprofit’s strict budgetary limitations. And the site had to be easy for BGCSF’s non-technical personnel to manage and maintain post-launch.
The Solution
Clock Four began by sourcing content management systems that were uniquely suited to BGCSF's needs and flexible enough to accommodate customizations such as adding a mapping tool to enable visitors to find the nearest BGCSF location and tailoring the organization’s logo for Google Maps. In addition, Clock Four built the initial versions of the new site pages and worked closely with BGCSF’s staff, training them on how to post information, articles, updates and images going forward.
Today, the site delivers a seamless and compelling user experience. Whether you're a parent searching for a local club, a corporation seeking to make a contribution, an individual interested in volunteering, or one of BGCSF's other key audiences, you'll find exactly what you're looking for quickly and easily. When the project was completed, BGCSF's CEO graciously thanked Clock Four for its work at the organization's annual gala.
